Over the past 10 years, PT. Mulia Graha Abadi has done the Joint Venture with Varel Europe to provide bits for the customers needs.We provide information about the drilling and provide solutions to solve a problems both onshore and offshore drilling.
Joint Venture has produced its Local Content (TKDN) by 30,65% for all types of drill bits, in accordance with the desired party in conducting the Pertamina Tender in Indonesia and as the main requirement of tender participation.
Bi-center bits are used to increase the wellbore diameter, to replace under reaming, to help control trouble zones, and for expandable tubulars. They are also specifically designed to reduce the risk associated with operating hole openers and under reamers.

Force Balancing
During the design process the pilot and reamer cutting structure are force balanced as a single unit. This provides increased drilling efficiencies in both vertical and deviated wells.
Engineered with application specific technology the Compass bits provide excellent steerability and high rates of penetration even in limited WOB applications. The bearing provides reliable performance in deep hole, long reach sections where increased temperatures and motor RPM’s are commonly encountered.

Advanced Bearing Metallurgy
Compass bits are equipped with a sliver plated journal bearing bushing, silver plated thrust washer, pilot pin and bearing hard metal alloy for increased durability and reliability.
DuraTech builds on the advancements of the High Energy product line and incorporates the changes in a steel tooth bit product line. With the ability to operate at the extremes of operating parameters, DuraTech delivers higher ROP, extended bit life, and increased footage drilled.

Patented Bearing Seal
A patented conical seal gland design handles pressure fluctuations better and still maintains a preferred dynamic location and interface for the seal. The design is also complimented by a heat shield that is deployed between the seal and inner bearing. This shield provides lower seal operating temperatures leading to longer seal life.
Improved Bearing
Engineers developed a bearing system to support higher loads which resulted in a more robust and tighter tolerance journal bearing.
Enhanced Hard Metal
A new hard metal material is welded to DuraTech bits for added durability and long life. Hard metal technology has increased the application amounts by more than 20% in critical areas of the bit increasing cutting structure life and footage drilled.
Increased Wear Resistance
New shirttail hard metal that significantly increased wear resistance in critical areas of the bit has been added.
Everest is available in three levels of trim. Everest Summit contains all of the enhancing features for high profile drilling, Everest Base is a lower cost version for less demanding drilling, and Everest Open is for open bearing applications.

A premium sealed roller bearing design with canister compensator, new grease formula, utilizing steel tooth or tungsten carbide insert cutting structures, and premium shirttail protection.

A standard sealed roller bearing design with canister compensator, new grease formula, utilizing steel tooth or tungsten carbide insert cutting structures, and standard shirttail protection.

An open bearing steel tooth design with standard shirttail protection and standard tooth hard facing.

Canister Compensator
Designed to extend bit life and maintain grease supply for the length of the run. Over twice the grease capacity of previous models ensures critical lubrication to the bearing. Only in Summit and Base products.
High Temperature and Lubricity Grease
Advanced synthetic grease allows for improved lubrication above 350°F and greater reliability in all applications. Only in Summit and Base products.
Patented Pressure Attenuator
This is a new enhancement for roller bearings. Naturally occurring cone pumps lead to pressure spikes thereby accelerating seal wear. This technology mitigates the pressure spikes allowing ample time for the canister compensator and seal to offset the spikes. Only in Summit and Base products.
EdgeGuard
Patented next generation shirttail protection using custom fitted tungsten carbide micro shields for enhanced wear characteristics. The micro shields conform to the shirttail contour providing seal and bearing protection. Only in Summit products.
Carbonate Grade Inserts
Carbonate formations worldwide pose ongoing challenges. Varel with the help of leading experts has developed high grade tungsten carbide inserts designed to mitigate heat checking and maximize toughness in carbonate formations. Only in Summit and Base products.
Specialty bits are designed for your application based on input data from you. Bit body materials range from matrix blends to steel bodies and can be tailored for the required drilling challenge. Natural diamond, diamond impregnated HIP segments, Thermally Stable Polycrystalline (TSP), and Polycrystalline Diamond Compact (PDC) cutting elements can be used. Hole openers, core bits, and side track bits are just a few examples of specialty items.

Diamond Impregnated HIP Segments
Undergo a sintering process to achieve reduced porosity and are then placed in the face of the bit in specific patterns determined by SPOT-DN.
Thermally Stable Polycrystalline (TSP)
Thermally stable polycrystalline bits are effective in abrasive, homogenous formations where a motor can be run to increase the bits performance.
